Amidst the dry arid landscape of Northeast Brazil, a great event marks the times gone by when cowboys had to prove their valor through the act of pulling bulls down to the ground by their tails: The Vaquejada*. Iremar, is a modern day cowboy who works at the event. He spends his days covered in mud and feces, looking after the bulls and preparing their tails before their release onto the Vaquejada track. A recent textile boom is providing new opportunities for people in the region and Iremar dreams of become a famous clothes designer. In his spare time at the Vaquejada he designs elaborate ideas for a new clothing line. The film provides a sensorial journey through the visceral world of the Vaquejada and the desires and dilemmas that face Iremar in a region stirred by accelerated economic transformation.
