Steve Shaw was an American actor best known for playing Eric Fairgate in the television drama Knots Landing. One of his earliest acting appearances was a Season 5 episode of Little House on the Prairie entitled "The Odyssey" in which he played a character named Dylan who has been diagnosed with terminal leukemia and wishes to see the Pacific Ocean before he dies. Shaw appeared regularly in Knots Landing from 1979 to 1987, and thereafter made occasional return appearances before his death in a traffic accident on December 5, 1990, in Los Angeles
