Norma West is a British actress, born 19 November 1943 in Cape Town, South Africa. Her most prolific television appearance was as Queen Elizabeth of York in the 1972 BBC series The Shadow of the Tower. Other TV roles include Danger Man, Ace of Wands, A Touch of Frost, Lovejoy, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, The Murder at the Vicarage. She played Hilary in the 1982 television adaptation of John le Carré's Smiley's People and the role of Wilhelmina Lawson in Agatha Christie's Poirot - Dumb Witness. She also played the part of Number 6's observer in the Patrick McGoohan's surreal, spy series The Prisoner. The episode was entitled "Dance of the Dead. " She was only dressed as "Little Bo Peep" during the carnival sequence in that episode. Her film career included roles in The Projected Man, Battle Beneath the Earth, Run a Crooked Mile, Man at the Top, Why Shoot the Teacher? and And the Ship Sails On
