Peter Edward "Ginger" Baker is an English drummer, best known as the founder of the rock band Cream. A member also of Blind Faith, Hawkwind, and a number of other bands, including his own Ginger Baker's Air Force, he is known for his numerous associations with world music, mainly the use of African influences. Baker is widely recognized as one of the most influential drummers of all time, and has had a significant influence on the rock genre and has inspired many drummers. Among Baker's other collaborations are his recordings, concerts, and session work variously with Gary Moore, Masters of Reality and Public Image Ltd, Atomic Rooster, Bill Laswell, jazz bassist Charlie Haden, jazz guitarist Bill Frisell, pioneering afro beat musician Fela Kuti, and another personally led effort, Ginger Baker's Energy
