Born and brought up Shimla, Asmita Sood is a known face in the ad-film world and the South Indian Film Industry. She started her modelling career towards the end of 2010 after participating in TV reality show Channel V's Get Gorgeous after which she became a known face in the commercial and ad-film world. She has endorsed over 50 brands since then. She made it to the Top 10 finalists on FEMINA Miss India 2011 where she won several titles. Several offers poured in after which she made her acting debut with a Telugu film Brammigadi Katha which ran 50 days at the box office. She took a break to hone her skills and trained professionally as a Kathak Dancer. In 2013, Sood debuted in Kannada films with Victory, which also stars Sharan in the lead role. It was followed by her Malayalam debut in the anthology 5 Sundarikal in which she played the role of Ami, as a Muslim lady. She then signed a lead role in 2013 opposite Sudheer Babu in the Telugu film Aadu Magaadra Bujji
