Gemini Ganesan, the protagonist appears in the film as a man who travels to many places and marry many women. Lakshmi, Jayasudha and Jayabharathi become his victims. How he manages to prove himself forms the rest of the story. The film also has kamal Hassan as a man who marries Jayasudha. The film was later remade into Tamil with the same title starring Jeevan and Sneha in 2007.
