Manjil Virinja Pookkal movie is about Prem Kishan (Shankar) who is  falling in love with Prabha (Poornima Jayaram) whom he knows very little about. Later on he realises that she was already married when her husband, Narendran (Mohanlal)who comes into the picture. The film ends on a sad note, with Prem Kishan committing suicide after killing Narendran, saddened by the loss of Prabha, who was killed by the same Narendran.
