For many years believed to be a lost film, but has now been digitally remastered. A young gambler plays a game of chess against his creditor in order to clear his debts. Whilst playing he falls into a dream where he encounters a mysterious man who has the power to take his identity. This 1913 French film followed hot on the heels of the similarly themed German classic "The Student of Prague".
