Based on the ever-popular children's' novel by Johanna Spyri, "Heidi" follows the adventures of an indomitable young girl, forced to move to her grandfather's hovel high up in the Swiss Alps, where she she surprises all by settling in to a firm friendship, not only with her somewhat grouchy relative, but also with a new friend Peter, the goat-herder. But alas, Heidi's scheming Aunt has other plans for her - ones that will bring her great financial reward - and Heidi is thus dragged away from her new home, back to the city. Here she befriends Clara who is wheelchair-bound, and through their friendship, Clara gains the courage to walk again, Auntie's plans crumble around her, and it all ends happily ever after for our heroine, back in her happy Alpine home...
