Miguel Morayta was a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He directed 74 films between 1944 and 1978. At the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, Morayta was a Spanish artillery officer who joined the Republican side. After Franco's victory, he left Spain for France and Africa, finally arriving in Mexico in 1941, where he started his career. At the time of his death, he resided in Mexico. He died on 19 June 2013 at the age of 105
